Job Title: Welding Operations Manager, Asia Pacific

Description of the position:

Provide professional management and co-ordination of Welding operations for RAE Energy – APAC, including staffing and the implementation of equipment and processes. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that all projects are staffed by competent employees, are delivered safely, efficiently and with the highest quality.


Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe, efficient and profitable management of welding operations
  • Monitors and reports financial performance of the welding operations function in relation to individual project targets to regional General Manager
  • Push status quo by looking for breakthrough improvements to processes, equipment, technology and service delivery
  • Consider the implications of current and trending market conditions to manage operations most effectivel
  • Develop and maintain on-going relationships with key industry contacts; Identify and manage new and potential business opportunities
  • Participate in client meetings/presentations/bid preparation/project reviews
  • Ensure other functional/departmental managers understand all necessary aspects and needs of Welding Operations
  • Attract, develop and retain a highly competent workforce


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree desired; Engineering discipline advantageous
  • 8+ years’ experience in pipeline welding
  • 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory role (preferably within pipeline welding)
  • Has developed and implemented strategic plans
  • Experienced with developing and managing an operational budget
